Months from its expected launch, the OnePlus 6 can’t stay away from the spotlight. The 2018 flagship has already appeared in several reports and leaks giving us an idea of what’s in the pipeline. Aside from having high-end specifications, the phone will probably ship with a notch at the top of its display to stir up some controversy. The OnePlus 6 should cost a lot more than any of its predecessors, too.
The latest leak, which comes from an anonymous user on Weibo, lays out a whole bunch of information regarding OnePlus’ next release. OnePlus plans on going head-to-head with top brands with pricing to prove so.

OnePlus will allegedly ship the phone with a 6.2-inch display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM, and a dual-camera setup including 20MP and 16MP lenses. Dash Charge, the brand’s in-house technology for charging, is also mentioned.
The most interesting thing, however, is the price listed. OnePlus seems to be readying a model with 256GB of storage for $749. It’s incredibly higher than any mobile device released in the brand’s history, but OnePlus has never offered that amount of storage before. Needless to say, the price will be eye-popping for many of OnePlus’ loyal customers.
For years, OnePlus has stayed below $500 with its starting price for new hardware. But there’s no denying the brand has slowly added a few more dollars annually ever since the OnePlus One debuted in 2014. Now, with the OnePlus 6, it could get lost behind Samsung and Apple’s flagships by approaching $1,000.
Just like in the past, OnePlus will likely introduce the OnePlus 6 in June. If you want an idea of what the OnePlus 6 will look like, check out the Oppo R15. BBK Electronics owns both brands and typically recycles designs between them.
