Sega Genesis Classics has over 50 games and is (hopefully) the last compilation you’ll ever need to buy
In other words, no Switch announcement and no Rocket Knight Adventures.This collection is another one that is just shy of perfect.
My previous compilation of choice, SEGA Genesis Collection on the PSP via the Vita, sadly did not include the Shining Force games, so I’m happy to see them here. Combined with Landstalker, Phantasy Star, and Beyond Oasis, this does meet the requirements of a JRPG fan who wants to experience SEGA’s contribution to the genre’s history.
Plus, it has Ristar. That is all.
However, without the portability of the Switch though, this bundle is a no-buy for me. Sorry, SEGA, but that versatility is a pre-requisite when I buy games anymore. We’ll wait a few months and see what happens. In the meantime, SEGA Genesis Classics will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 29.
