The fan consensus on The Last Jedi is, shall we say, divided. While some laud it for its daring shifts away from traditional Star Wars canon, others feel it pulls too far away in too many ways to be considered a true Star Wars film. One early critic happens to be one of the movie’s stars, Luke Skywalker himself – Mark Hamill. With the pitched battle currently setting the internet alight, Hamill is rethinking his comments.
“I regret voicing my doubts [and] insecurities in public,†Hamill said on Twitter. “Creative differences are a common element of any project but usually remain private. All I wanted was to make a good movie. I got more than that – [director Rian Johnson] made an all-time great one!â€

Hamill had previously said in interviews that he wasn’t happy with Johnson’s direction for Star Wars’ leading man.
“I pretty much fundamentally disagree with every choice you’ve made for this character,†Hamill had said to Rian Johnson, according to an interview with the actor back in May.
