Google on Thursday began rolling out Android Oreo to a range of Android Wear devices, starting with the LG Watch Sport. The release follows on the heels of Google’s launch of Android 8.1.
According to Hoi Lam, a Google developer advocate in the Android Wear Developers channel, Android Oreo is rolling out to Android Wear devices in stages. “Timing is determined by each watch’s manufacturer,†Lam explained.

There aren’t a huge number of changes included in the release. Lam provided a short list of improvements Android Wear users can expect:
Notification vibration strength setting
Touch lock option for we conditions
Support for 7 new countries / languages
Plus more e.g. notification channels, battery saving background limits
Additionally, Android Oreo for Android Wear brings language support to seven new countries, including Belgium, El Salvador, and Nigeria.
9to5Google said the LG Watch Sport is currently the only device receiving the update, with other wearables to follow over the coming days.
