Ubisoft filled our PC libraries to the brink with free games every month during its 30th anniversary, and it just confirmed the final game of this celebration. From Dec. 7 until the end of the year, you can pick up Assassin’s Creed III on the PC if you have a uPlay account.
And the last #Ubi30 free game on PC is… Assassin’s Creed III!

Does it have to be Assassin’s Creed III?
I always try to not complain about free games, but here I would offer a small counter option. Fans of the series often hold Assassin’s Creed III on the lower end of the spectrum. Loaded with bugs and performance issues, the game lingers somewhere in between its transformation from a stealth action game into an open-world adventure that borders on being an RPG. The result is a major identity crisis.
Despite the interesting setting in the American Revolution, fans often see this one as a misstep, especially since the following game, Assassin’s Creed IV, towers over it in terms of popularity. That one can still garner a lot of cash on its reputation too, which is why Assassin’s Creed III is free and not it.
Assassin’s Creed III finds itself in good company with the other Ubi 30 games: Prince of Persia: Sand of Time, Splinter Cell, Rayman Origins, The Crew, Beyond Good and Evil, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
