Star Citizen has been a long time coming. It’s an extremely well-funded game, and it’s slowly rolled out in alpha form through modules.

It goes free for brief periods of time, too. One such time is upon us right now. Players who want to catch a free glimpse of Star Citizen‘s current alpha can do so for free from now until October 30.

Hit the source link below, create an account (or sign in if you already have one), write in the “FALL2016” coupon code and download the client.

The free session includes the “fast and powerful F7C-M Super Hornet” until October 30, 2016. That ship is pictured above.

When will Star Citizen officially release?

We don’t know when this game will really come out. Start Citizen has no release date. The developers have rolled things out in alpha modules that cost money. Each “package” includes game goods.

There’s a single player campaign called Squadron 42 and there’s Star Citizen itself. The title has been in development since 2011. Through the Kickstarter campaign and pre-release pledges, Star Citizen has earned more than $110 million.

When’s the real deal coming out? I have no idea. Try the Free Fly to see if you want to jump in.
