Samsung Chromebook Pro sports ultra-thin design, integrated stylus

The Galaxy Note series may be dead in the water now, but it’s not the end of the S Pen. Samsung is launching a premium Chrome OS notebook called the Chromebook Pro, and new images reveal it will sport an ultra-thin design with an integrated stylus.

Samsung hasn’t actually made the Chromebook Pro official yet, but the company has already listed the device on its South Korean website. The notebook features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with 2400×1600 resolution, and a 360-degree hinge that lets you use it in tablet mode.

The Chromebook Pro is powered by a 2GHz hexa-core processor, 32GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM. It has two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, an SD card slot, and 10-hour battery life. Samsung is also throwing in a one-year subscription to the AirDroid app.

Thanks to the latest version of Chrome OS, the Chromebook Pro can run Android apps right out of the box — but that’s probably not the most exciting thing about this laptop. If you have a fondness for great design, you’re going to be much more interested in its look.

The Chromebook Pro looks to be made out of aluminum (though it could be silver plastic), and it’s super thin at just 13.9mm. It has an integrated stylus dubbed the “PEN,” and it slots away just as neatly as the S Pen on the Note series. It will likely offer the same features as well.

It’s not yet clear when the Chromebook Pro will be announced worldwide, but SamMobile, which first stumbled across it, expects to hear something “in a few days.”
