Sony must have mistimed the Sale of the Dead this year. Usually, the sale starts two weeks before Halloween and gives us great bargains leading up into the holiday. This year, we have round two after Halloween is already over and Christmas season is already here…
Yeah, I saw my first commercial yesterday. Hooray!
Don’t worry, Sony. Nobody is laughing at you. Besides, it’s never too late for a sale! Here are your options this week!
Deadly Premonition is on sale again, and it’s crazy.
The PlayStation 4 doesn’t have a whole lot of new games that I’m interested in here. LIMBO, Organ Trail, Devil May Cry 4, Psychonauts, and Sleeping Dogs are all fine games, but not exactly what you kind of expect from the PlayStation 4’s power capabilities. Plus, they’re all older games anyway, and only weirdos like me enjoy going back to play older stuff.
The PlayStation 3 has the best choices in this sale by far. The Devil May Cry HD Collection contains two of the best action games ever made… and Devil May Cry 2. The first two Dead Space games hold up really nicely. I’ve always liked the first one a lot better, but the second one seems to be the high point for many of the series’ fans.
I’d also never sneer at the incompetent brilliance of Deadly Premonition. If anything, you should pick that up now that its director has moved on from the studio.
I’m not too big on any of these Vita games, so I think the choice is pretty clear! Older games are awesome, and if you own a PlayStation 3, Devil Mary Cry and Dead Space are the way to go. Let’s rock, baby!
