LIFX recently revealed a new version of its lightbulbs dubbed “LIFX+” that offers some kick-ass technology for consumers and businesses that rely on security cameras.
The new bulbs shoot out infrared light, invisible to the human eye, which helps security cameras see even better in the dark. That doesn’t sound exciting on the surface, but it really is. Maybe you’re away from home and your security camera picks up on something, for example.
Typically, you’ll be able to see as far as the security camera’s night mode lets you. With infrared lights around the house, though, the camera will be able to show you a much, much better picture of what’s going on. There won’t be any dark corners for a would-be thief to hide in.
Two models are available, including the A19 LED bulb and the BR30 LED Can light. Both are priced at $79.99 a pop and buyers can save money by buying in bulk. Both are available for pre-order and will ship in November.
