LG V20: Reasons NOT to buy it

There are many reasons why you should check out the LG V20. That secondary display is unique and the battery can be removed. It also supports expandable storage via microSD, something that’s becoming increasingly rare. Did I mention it’s also one of the first devices to launch with Android 7.0?

But there are many reasons why you should skip it.

Granted, our annoyances with the device are subjective, so there’s a good chance you’ll disagree. For example, we’re not big fans of the rear-facing home button and prefer when it’s on the front below the screen. The S7 and S7 Edge are good examples of how to execute this properly.

What the V20 gains in usability it loses in durability. The device isn’t waterproof, and although it’s made of aluminum, the design feels chintzy compared to competing flagships. When a device is nearly $800, we expect it to feel like it. Sadly, the V20’s build quality is average at best.

And despite running Android 7.0, LG slaps an ugly skin atop the OS. We’ve never been fans of LG’s software flourishes and it’s more of the same.

Check out the video above to hear more reasons why you shouldn’t buy the LG V20. And don’t forget our video about why you should check the V20 out.
