Job Simulator hits PS VR on October 13

PlayStation 4’s PS VR is almost upon us. As the release date approaches, folks out there are starting to wonder which games they should play. Job Simulator is one.

No, really, it’s a good one. Owlchemy Labs made a very silly game that I’m excited to fire up on my PS VR right as I get it.

Owlchemy offers that one of the things they really focused on in Job Simulator was how hands work. Hands, they explain, tend to be “the very first things” people look at when they pop into VR. I can confirm that I have, in fact, done just that. So, one of the aims of Job Simulator was to really nail the feeling of hands.

Here they are on the PlayStation Blog talking about what they had to do to achieve this.

In order to pull off smooth hand interactions, we worked extremely hard to consistently hit 90 frames per second throughout the entire game. This required a lot of optimization, testing, and re-optimization, but the result is an experience that allows for chugging coffee with one hand while typing on a binary keyboard with the other, all with relative ease (If, of course, you can pull that off in real life!).

Job Simulator looks sweet, and it’ll launch on October 13, 2016, for the PS VR platform.
