iOS 10.2 beta 1 Public Beta now available

Apple kicked the tires on iOS 10.2 beta 1 yesterday when it released the forthcoming update to developers. Now anyone can jump in and give the new software a try, thanks to the release of the iOS 10.2 beta 1 public beta, which was just released.

You’ll need to enroll in Apple’s Public Beta to give it a whirl, but that takes just a few seconds and is relatively easy to do. Just keep in mind that betas, particularly the first beta of any kind, can be super buggy. You probably don’t want this running on your primary device.

iOS 10.2 beta 1 offers exciting changes

iOS 10.2 has some exciting new features that we detailed yesterday, including new emoji, a widget for the videos app, several new wallpapers and other functions. One standout feature is the “Preserve Camera” setting, which lets you jump right into the camera settings you last used. That’s perfect for folks who always want to use Portrait mode, for example. Each time they launch the camera, boom, they’re in portrait mode.

Test the new public beta at your own risk, and let us know if you spot any hidden changes.
