PlayStation Access has uploaded another 22 minutes of gameplay footage from the upcoming PlayStation 4 HD remaster, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. The dungeon that the duo plays through is the exact same one I played at Tokyo Game Show 2016, so I’m going to drop the same warning here that I did in my hands-on impressions.
The gameplay footage is probably intended for those who just want to see graphical improvements on a game they already know. For those who have not played Final Fantasy XII and who think this looks awfully simplistic, that’s because it is. The demo provided the most barebones, repetitive look at Final Fantasy XII’s combat, and it doesn’t even come close to fully representing the depth that the game is capable of.
That being said, PlayStation Access does get a lot further in the demo than than I did, but at least this shows off what I meant when I was referencing the really long dungeons. Wow, this game really keeps you running through hallways for extended amounts of time, doesn’t it?
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age launches for the PlayStation 4 in 2017.
