BlackBerry DTEK60 with Snapdragon 820, Quad HD display, unveiled

BlackBerry just unveiled its third Android smartphone, the DTEK60. It follows in the footsteps of its two Android siblings, the BlackBerry Priv and the DTEK50.

The DTEK60 was built by TCL, again showing BlackBerry’s new plan to outsource the manufacturing of its smartphones to TCL while it focuses on software and security features. The DTEK 60 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, a 21-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera,a  fingerprint reader, USB-C, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a Snapdragon 820 processor, support for Quick Charge 3.0 and more.

The DTEK60 is a solid bump over the DTEK50, which shipped with a 1080p display, a 13-megapixel camera, and a Snapdragon 617 processor. It costs $200 more, though, so you’ll need to weigh your options and decide whether or not the power is actually worth paying for.

A BlackBerry Flagship

In many ways, this seems like the latest BlackBerry flagship smartphone, though it was announced with little fanfare. The DTEK60 is available unlocked for $499 and will work on T-Mobile and ATT in the U.S., in addition to their prepaid networks.
