Apple released its second iOS 10.1 public beta on Wednesday, a day after it released the same software to developers. Interested parties can grab it now, so long as they’re enrolled in the public beta program.
iOS 10.1 is mostly focused on Portrait Mode, a special camera feature for the iPhone 7 Plus. It uses the smartphone’s dual rear cameras to create a bokeh effect, blurring the background and focusing on the subject to create a sense of depth. Other smartphones have offered bokeh effects in the past, but this is Apple’s first attempt.
iOS 10.1 also fixes some issues and bugs included in the original iOS 10 release. It adds some tweaks to the new Messages app as well, making it easier to scroll through your installed apps.
You should get an over-the-air update if you’ve signed up for Apple’s beta program. If you haven’t joined but want to try out Portrait Mode on your new iPhone 7 Plus, hit the source link below.
