Following Apple’s release of iOS 10.1.1 on Monday morning, the company released the first beta of iOS 10.2. And, in addition to bug fixes and enhancements, Apple is introducing a handful of new features, including a “Preserve Camera” setting.
Because this update is so fresh, users are still reporting the changes. Among the features that have been discovered, iOS 10.2 beta 1 introduces new emoji, a new widget for the Videos app, and three new wallpapers.
There are also a few added settings, including the ability to turn off pressing and holding the home button to speak. That will be welcome for those who mistakenly bring up Siri when they don’t intend to.
Preserve Camera is the big new feature
Apple’s new Preserve Camera setting might be the most useful. Now, with the setting turned on, your device will remember the last settings your camera used.
This feature will be particularly welcome for those who record a lot of video or take pictures with a filter always turned on. At any rate, it will save valuable seconds off having to toggle between the different camera modes.
If any other big features turn up, we’ll be sure to update this post.
