13-inch MacBook Pro (2016) vs. MacBook Air spec shoot out!

The long-await for a MacBook Air refresh is finally here…kind of. Apple announced three new configurations for the MacBook Pro. The lowest end, which doesn’t feature the Touch Bar or TouchID sensor, is aimed at older MacBook Air users who are in need of an upgrade. 13-inch MacBook Airs are still available, but for how long? Apple made a number of comparisons to the MacBook Air, which sort of hints to an eventual demise of the on-the-go friendly laptop.

One can surmise the elimination of the MacBook Pro’s biggest new features is to cut costs, and it does by $300. The new MacBook Pro will set you back $1,499 and comes with the Retina display, Intel dual-core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of flash storage and most importantly, just two USB-C ports. But it is available in Space Gray, which is a much-welcomed addition.

The overall design of the computer is not only beautiful but also cuts down on the already small MacBoook Air footprint. The new look might be enough to sway hold-outs waiting for an update to the MacBook Air, it just so happens that the update they wanted came in the Pro model.

Check out our spec by spec breakdown of the two computers down below.
